On a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive, the Nigerian Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC) recently paid a visit to the Nelson Mandela Internally Displaced Persons Camp (NNIDP) in Games Village Kaura District Abuja, to commission a borehole donated by the NMRC to improve the living condition of the IDPs in the camp.

At the commissioning, the MD/CEO, NMRC, Prof. Charles Inyagete said ‘he hopes that the borehole will help mitigate the water situation in the camp’. Promising to look into the needs of the school in the camp by providing books and making medical facilities available at the camp clinic, he wished the internally displaced persons a speedy return to their homes. Also donated during the visit were food items and soft drinks.

After an assessment tour of the camp along with some officials of the company, the MD/CEO promised to return to the camp on a later date for an assessment of other critical areas of need at the IDPs camp.

Thanking the NMRC team, the coordinator of the skills acquisition center of the camp, Lynette Johnson, said, it is timely as water remains a major challenge in the camp. She also assured that the borehole will be properly utilised.
