NMRC Seeks to Partner Akwa Ibom State Government for Housing Dev’pt

In continuation of our drive to create an enabling environment for Affordable Housing Development and Mortgage Creation, NMRC met with the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency Udom Emmanuel to discuss areas of collaboration.

The NMRC CEO, Mr. Kehinde Ogundimu, represented by Head of Compliance & Internal Audit Mr. Sam Ekanem presented draft copies of the Model Mortgage Foreclosure Law to the Akwa Ibom State Governor.

He also informed the Governor that a collaboration with NMRC has the capacity to increase the scale of ongoing housing interventions in Akwa Ibom State; improve the State’s Ease of Doing Business Rankings and thus enable it to attract the requisite foreign investment for execution of the State’s  Industrial development strategy.

According to his Excellency Governor Udom Emmanuel Akwa Ibom State hopes to improve its current housing stock by embarking on a sites and services scheme supported a plan to create clusters of industries built around a safe city concept that would include ware housing, processing, manufacturing, shared services, and residential housing developments.
