NMRC Trains Staff Of Its Member Mortgage Lending Institutions On Anti-Money Laundering Compliance

In line with NMRC’s commitment to building capacity in the Housing Finance sector, towards the implementation of best practice Anti- Money Laundering /Combating the Financing of Terrorism AML/CFT Programme, a seminar was recently organized for staff of NMRC member Banks.

The goal of the seminar was to provide guidance to participants on effective approaches to implementing the ‘’ CBN Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (Administrative Sanctions) Regulations 2018’’, in their respective institutions.

The training, which was the 3rd in the series of AML/CFT training for selected staff of NMRC members banks, focussed on the principles behind the Regulations, CBN’s expectations of Financial Institutions in implementing the regulations,  practical approach to implementing the Regulations and the policies/procedures required to be established by Financial institutions to ensure full compliance with the regulations.

Participants expressed their profound appreciation to NMRC for sponsoring the training, which they admitted, has greatly enhanced their AML/CFT compliance knowledge and skills.
