Ms. Aboyade is an experienced legal professional of over four decades. She gained her LL.M from the University of Cambridge (Jesus College) in 1985. Prior to this, she had been admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1983 after obtaining her LL.B from the University of Ife where she graduated in the top 1% of her class.
Ms. Aboyade’s career journey has spanned legal practice, banking and journalism. Her solid legal background has seen her handling diverse legal matters, ranging from complex corporate transactions, project finance, high profile litigation and commercial arbitration. Her expertise attests to her admission to the Inner Bar as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2013.
A seasoned Arbitrator she is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (Nigeria Branch). She is also a Notary Public.
In the public space she served as Chairperson of the Lagos State Prerogative of Mercy Council set up under the Nigerian Constitution to advise State Governors on the grant of pardon, respite, substitution or remission of sentences on convicts. More recently, she was also a member of the team set up by the Federal Ministry of Environment to review and amend the Climate Change Act, 2021.
