The Honourable Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, recently paid a surprise visit to NMRC Abuja office. This was an impromptu stop over following her visit to the offices of the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), next door neighbours to NMRC, to sign a major agreement with Old Mutual Investment Group to establish two new funds to invest in Nigeria’s real estate and agriculture sectors.
The Honourable Minister was warmly welcomed to NMRC premises by its MD/CEO, Professor Charles Inyangete, in the company of other executive management staff. Prof Inyangete conducted the Minister and her aides round the premises, briefly introducing key staff and elaborating on some of the institution’s activities.
NMRC and the Federal Ministry of Finance have a long and enduring relationship dating back to 2013, as the line Ministry responsible for the actualization of the NMRC concept, under a public private partnership agreement with key stakeholders including the Central Bank of Nigeria, the then Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria, and the World Bank Group.
