Kanayo Mba has over 20 years of experience in financial services spanning commercial and investment banking, treasury and correspondent banking, strategy, financial management, and mortgage refinancing. He joined the company in 2015 as its pioneer Treasurer, where he led the establishment of the Treasury function and played key roles in treasury risk management, liquid assets management, mortgage refinancing, and debt issuances. He currently serves as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing Treasury, Financial Control, and Corporate Strategy.

Kanayo began his career at Diamond Bank Plc (now Access Bank Plc) in 2000, where he gained extensive experience in treasury, business development, and commercial lending. He holds an MBA from Imperial College Business School, London, with a specialisation in Investments and Risk Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

A Chartered Accountant and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), he is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK) and has attended executive programmes at the Wharton School, (University of Pennsylvania), Columbia University, Lagos Business School, IESE Business School, the University of Cape Town, and Harvard Business School.
